Grascals pay tribute to ‘The Andy Griffith Show’

The Andy Griffith Show was always a forum for fine acoustic music, with bluegrass band The Dillards "playing" as The Darlings and providing plenty of traditional tunes.

Tuesday, June 7's release of Dance Til Your Stockings Are Hot and Ravelin': A Tribute To The Music of The Andy Griffith Show finds Grammy-nominated bluegrass band The Grascals playing show favorites "Boil Them Cabbage Down," "Ol' Joe Clark," the "Mayberry's Finest Theme" and an original song based on a line from the show, "Boy, Giraffes Are Selfish."

“It’s an honor and privilege to be associated with the best TV show ever made,” said Grascals guitarist Terry Eldredge in a release, speaking his heart but surely offending numerous Hannah Montana fans.

Dance Til Your Stockings Are Hot and Ravelin’ is now available on BlueGrascal Records/Time Life Records.
